Kiyoko Suwaki
---Where were you born?
I was born and raised in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture. I married and came to Kojima when I was twenty years old. I still live in Kojima today.
---What was your impression of Kojima at first?
It appeared tense compared to Takamatsu. People don't drive fast like they do here. It's more relaxed in Takamatsu. That's why it felt a bit stuffy. I became used to it, though.
---What do you do for a living?
I've worked at Hamadera Yosetsujo (welding company) since my marriage. I am in charge of delivery of car seat parts. I can operate a forklift.
---Tell us about your family.
My husband, my son and his wife, and my seven months old grandchild.
---Are you happy at home?
Yes, very much. My daughter-in-law is wonderful. She prepares all the meals for our family. Isn't that amazing considering how many young people can't manage ordinary household chores these days?
---Where do you often go?
"Peynet" a bread store in my neighborhood. Every morning, before making deliveries, I stop by for a cup of coffee. I also like Miyama Park in Tamano. I often go there with my family or friends. There's a pond and I enjoy feeding the swans and ducks. They come gathering all at once and feed out of my hands. They're really adorable.
---What is the secret of living cheerfully?
I decorate the office and its bathroom with flowers every morning when I come to work. It's not such a big deal, but that refreshes my feeling.
